PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Drivers play a crucial role in ensuring successful and efficient retail online deliveries. By fulfilling these responsibilities, drivers contribute to a positive customer experience and help the business maintain a reliable and efficient delivery service.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4 with 4 years’ driving experience, OR Grade 10 certificate with 6 years driving experience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform all deliveries for the Online Store in a professional manner, to Customers/Businesses and ensure the Invoice and Dispatch documents are all signed as proof of products received.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance while representing the company during deliveries.
- Maintain effective communication with the dispatch or logistics team.
- Notify the team of any delays, issues, or changes in the delivery schedule.
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries of online orders to customers’ specified locations.
- Adhere to established delivery schedules and timelines.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery confirmations and receipts.
- Keep accurate records of delivered orders for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Verify the accuracy of the delivered items against the order details before handing them over to the customer.
- Report any discrepancies or missing items immediately.
- Confirm via SMS/App when (orders collected at store, orders on-route to customers and once deliveries was completed)
- Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and responsive.
- Ensure the security of the delivered items during transportation.
- Follow safety protocols to minimize the risk of theft or damage.
- Carry out periodic checks on the assigned vehicles to determine maintenance needs and report accordingly and on time.
